Baden-Württemberg’s Minister visits VOLLMER at AMB Fair

vollmerBaden-Württemberg’s Minister for Economics, Labour and Housing, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, visited VOLLMER’s trade fair booth at the 2016 AMB international specialist trade fair in Stuttgart. VOLLMER, based in Biberach, is a specialist in the field of grinding and eroding machines. The discussion revolved around the latest sharpening technologies as well as the Swabian technology and service company’s international focus.

 

“Baden-Württemberg’s medium-sized business sector is booming thanks to its tradition, innovation and global technological expertise,” commented Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister for Economics, Labour and Housing in Baden-Württemberg. “For over 100 years, VOLLMER has demonstrated how businesses can combine local responsibility with international growth and established itself as a true ‘hidden champion.'” He added further.

 

As part of her official tour to mark the opening of the AMB, one of the most important international specialist trade fairs for the metal machining industry, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Baden-Württemberg’s Minister for Economics, Labour and Housing, paid a visit to VOLLMER’s stand. Among the visitors, who came from both the political sector and professional organisations, was Dr. Dietrich Birk, CEO of the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA – Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau) in Baden-Württemberg.

 

During their short visit, Lothar Reinhardt, Head of Strategic Market Development at the VOLLMER Group, gave his prominent guests an overview of the Upper Swabian sharpening specialist’s trade fair highlights as well as their global strategic focus for the future. With its new Vgrind 360 grinding machine for carbide tools, VOLLMER brought the next generation of grinding machines to series production and presented it to an audience of experts at the AMB.

 

“In order to provide our customers all over the world with even more expert, in depth assistance, we have founded two new subsidiaries this year and now have over 14 sites around the world,” explained Lothar Reinhardt. “The Moscow subsidiary has allowed us to develop our market position in Eastern Europe, and the VOLLMER subsidiary in South Korea will support our ongoing internationalisation in East Asia, alongside our established locations in Japan and China.” Lothar concluded.
