Six distinguished woodworking and furniture industry professionals have been selected as judges for the AWFS 2015 Fresh Wood Student Woodworking Competition.
The judging panel consists of:
• Bob Barone, Sales Manager, Benz Incorporated and accomplished lap steel guitar maker/artist
• Martin Goebel, owner, Goebel & Co Furniture, melding traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design
• Daniel Hellman, co-owner, Hellman-Chang, creator of luxury furniture lines
• Saúl Martín, shop superintendent, Architectural Woodworking Company, a high-end commercial architectural millwork firm
• Richard Schroeder, Vice President, Design, Stanley Furniture Company and ASFD Board President
• Davide Tonizzo, owner, Design D, industrial design and production furniture design
Fresh wood judges begin their work in May, with a round of preliminary judging and then come together at the AWFS Fair in Las Vegas, July 22—25, 2015 to select the winners.
Fresh wood is a student woodworking competition open to full-time students in an accredited high school or post secondary wood working or related program and part time students in an accredited post secondary wood working or related program who are transitioning into a career in woodworking or design within North America.
