logo-news-FRAUNHOFER-thumbNowadays, Information Technology is rapidly expanding and growing fast in our everyday lives. Still, the hunger of innovating extreme modern technology and machine intelligence is still remains into the renowned companies. At, Ligna, from May 11 to May 15, the Fraunhofer Application Centre industrial Automation (IOSB-INA), Lemgo will demonstrate how the integration of innovative digital systems can enhance machine intelligence and adaptive, resource-efficient and user-friendly assembly0systems increase production efficiency.
“Many manufacturing companies are under pressure to enhance their ability to more efficiently and quickly react to increasingly customer-specific demand. Only the consistent digitalization and optimization of value-chains will permit this development”, said Professor Jurgen Jasperneite, Head of the Fraunhofer.
Modern –day production systems are still unable to automatically adjust their behavior to changing environments. Modifications, such as the addition of a new component to an existing manufacturing system, still require significant manual engineering efforts. The application of innovative information and communication technologies (ICT) can provide machines and production systems with cognitive abilities.
“whilst Germany remains a leader in the machine and plant-engineering and technology space, historically, disruptive technologies have mainly originated in United States by leading companies like Google, Apple and others. German players must not miss the boat ina forward-looking high-technology sector in which digital technologies and ubiquitous connectivity becomes more and more important for the production” added Jasperneite.
That is why Lemgo scientists and engineers are working on developing solutions that will enhance the innovation abilities of the German industrial landscape. Recent developments and a modular assembly-line will showcase in Ligna this year.
