Georgia-Pacific to take over pine sawmill

gerogia pacafic logoGeorgia-Pacific is going to take over the Rocky Creek small-diameter pine sawmill in Mexia, Alabama, from US-American plywood and OSB manufacturer Roy O. Martin Lumber Management. The takeover terms are to remain undisclosed. According to news released by the companies on 16 March, the takeover is expected to be concluded soon.

 

Rocky Creek only handles southern yellow pine logs and was in operation in 2001. It was taken over by Roy O. Martin in 2006. The sawmill has approximately 110 employees and has an annual output of roughly 100m bdft of lumber. The products range from dimension lumber and heavy studs to squares and so-called barn beams.
