Lockdowel is the new member of Cabinet Makers Association

 Wednesday, September 23, 2015

lockdowelLockdowelTM, a designer/manufacturer of innovative fastening systems for cabinets, closets, casegoods and other woodworking applications, has joined the Cabinet Makers Association as an Associate member.

“Our products simplify many of the tasks CMA members face every day,” says Steve Macdonald, CEO of Lockdowel. “We’re interested in learning more about their challenges and sharing with them Lockdowel’s advantages. Then, we can move forward together. We’re excited to be part of the CMA.”

Lockdowel offers two systems; the Lockdowel Component System (CS), three-piece component hardware which is ideal for automated manufacturing, and the new EClips system, a single-piece fastener which is currently best suited for custom or RTA applications. Cabinet makers with standard or CNC boring equipment and/or CNC machining centers can use EClips as soon as the product starts shipping on October 15, 2015. Automated CNC boring and insertion solutions for EClips will be available in 2016 from premier machinery manufacturers.

Both fastening systems are available in the Cabinet Vision hardware library and are being added to IMOS design and production software as well. The Lockdowel-IMOS launch is scheduled for Q4, 2015.

The Lockdowel component system is installed during the manufacturing process. EClips can be installed in the plant or on-site. Both fasteners allow finished goods to be flat-packed, moved with greater efficiency and less damage, and built on-site up to 80% faster than standard assembly methods. For DIY projects, Lockdowel CS and EClips make RTA truly user-friendly.
