Siempelkamp Sells Ten wood-based material production plants in 2014

 Wednesday, October 15, 2014

siempelkampIncluding two new orders from Turkish wood-based material manufacturers, Siempelkamp has sold ten wood-based material production plants in 2014 to date. With this result, the machine builder has already reached the total number of orders received during the previous business year. A gratifying development is the increased demand from the Turkish market. With Çamsan Entegre and Starwood two long-term customers have once again decided to buy Siempelkamp products. With that, the Krefeld company sold 25 plants in the last 20 years to the country on the Bosporus.

Two MDF plants for Turkey
In August Çamsan Entegre ordered an MDF plant featuring state-of-the-art and resource-conserving technology for its location in Hendek, Turkey. With it the customer can manufac-ture boards with a size ranging from 1,830 to 2,100 mm x 6,800 to 8,400 mm and a thickness between 3 and 40 mm. Equipped with a Generation 8 ContiRoll® press, the Siempelkamp plant is well suited for the production of high-quality HDF which will open up new markets for the customer. The scope of supply includes the complete engineering, the glue kitchen, the innovative Ecoresinator blending system for MDF, the dryer and energy plant by Büttner, the separator, the forming and press line including the ContiRoll® press as well as the complete finishing line with double diagonal saw, cooling and stacking line, sander, cut-to-size line and storage system. Siempelkamp’s proven control technology system Prod-IQ® is responsible for the quality control.

Starwood Orman Ürünleri San A.S. has also expanded its MDF production and ordered from Siempelkamp a MDF/HDF plant which is also suited for the manufacture of light weight boards. The plant is equipped with a forming and press line including a 7’ x 55.3 m Generation 8 ContiRoll® press, a dryer, separator, glue kitchen and Ecoresinator. The scope of supply also includes the complete finishing line with a cooling and stacking system as well as an intermediate storage system and the entire plant automation.

Success in the European market
With a particleboard line for Rauch Spanplattenwerk, Germany, as well as an OSB line for SmartPly Europe Ltd., Ireland, Siempelkamp received the two most important orders in Western Europe in 2014. Rauch is investing in a complete forming and press line for the production of particleboard with a 7’ x 52 m ContiRoll® including the steel structure and installation. With this order Siempelkamp is placing the first large particleboard line in Western Europe after eight years.

Smartply is replacing its old multi-daylight press with a state-of-the-art OSB plant from Siempelkamp including a forming and press line with a 7 – 9′ x 45.4 m ContiRoll® as well as numerous finishing line machines. These include the materials handling technology down-stream the resin blending and application system, the cooling and stacking line, a high-stack storage system as well as the cut-to-size line and the packing line.

Three plants in Asia, one each for Brazil and Russia
Siempelkamp also received three important orders from the Asian market. One from a new customer in Bangladesh: The Akij Group ordered one of the world’s most modern particle-board lines. Siempelkamp will supply all components ranging from the chipper infeed to the fully automatic sanding and cut-to-size line as well as the entire materials handling technology. The 8’ x 23.8 m Generation 8 ContiRoll®, the innovative Ecoresinator blending system for the particleboard core layer as well as the optimized control of the pneumatic conveyors ensure reduced raw material use and maximum energy efficiency.

Three Asian wood-based material manufacturers placed orders with Siempelkamp in 2014: Siempelkamp will supply a complete plant for thin MDF/HDF to Luoding Luyuan Wood Based Panel Co., Ltd., China, a MDF plant for the Vietnam Rubber Group, Vietnam, as well as a plant for thin MDF for another Asian customer.

An important customer in Brazil ordered a complete particleboard line including a forming and press line with a 9′ x 38.7 m ContiRoll® press. Another Siempelkamp line for the manufacture of particleboard including a Generation 8 ContiRoll® press will be supplied to Plitspichprom (Sojus Group). This order represents another success for Siempelkamp in the very competitive Russian market for wood-based materials. Siempelkamp also installed and started up six new lines in Russia and White Russia in 2014.

With this positive development during the first three quarters in 2014 and the remaining projects of the company at hand, Siempelkamp’s machine and plant engineering unit is expecting a satisfactory number of incoming orders for the current business year. Against the background of highly competitive markets and political imponderables, this is a very pleasing result. The current order backlog results in capacity utilization for the Siempelkamp produc-tion well into the third quarter of 2015.
