Cabinets & Closets postponed due to novel coronavirus outbreak

 Wednesday, March 11, 2020

The Texas based event has been postponed by the organisers owing to the health emergency in Asian countries. Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo and Wood Pro Expo Texas, has announced the postponement of the co-located events as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

According to the official statement from the show’s organizers: “After assessing the rapid acceleration in the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus)in the United States we have concluded that it is in the best interests of all participants to cancel and reschedule the Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo/Wood Pro Expo Texas. We deeply regret having to make this decision but our primary concern is for the safety and well being of our attendees and exhibitors.

“This has been a very difficult decision during a crucial time period”, said Tim Fixmer, CEO of CCI Media, the parent company of the Woodworking Network. “We continued to persevere while closely monitoring announcements coming from the federal government regarding the Covid-19 outbreak. There are a considerable amount of people, processes, and operations to juggle in moving an event this large. Rescheduling is not a simple process, however when it became evident that the outbreak in the USA was clearly going to be much larger than we were originally told, our only real option was to move the event to another time frame” he said.

“All hotel rooms within the event room block have been cancelled,” said Fixmer. “We have personnel on site today arranging for return shipments of exhibits, and plans are under way to reschedule and re-coordinate with the Arlington Convention Center, the AT&T Stadium, and the hotel to find a satisfactory future date on which the event can be held. In addition, we are looking into electronic media options to present any timely information that is part of the conference curriculum.”

“We are currently exploring all options for rescheduling the event and will keep you informed as plans progress,” said Fixmer. “We ask for all stakeholders’ help and cooperation in this matter so that we can see these unprecedented circumstances through to a satisfactory conclusion.”

Felder Group USA mentioned, “We hope the event is rescheduled at later and safer time in place, we will be holding an Open-House at our Carrollton, TX showroom. Same time & Date. Come see our full line up of our equipment, live machine demonstrations and more. No RSVP needed – Our doors will be open to all.”
