Makita

Makita U.S.A. launched the all new 18-volt LXT brushless, cordless Compact One-Handed Recipro Saw, model XRJ08. While being lightweight and small, it can also give the power required for experts who need a one-handed cutting tool. A multipurpose cutting tool, the 18V LXT Compact One-Handed Recipro Saw (XRJ08Z) combines variable speed, low vibration, and the ease of one-handed usage for quicker and more effective cutting.

For up to 55% faster cutting, XRJ08 delivers 0 to 3,100 strokes per minute along with a 7/8″ stroke length. With up to 40% less vibration, it provides a low-vibration design that lessens operator fatigue (when compared to model number XRJ07ZXB). The handle’s loop form provides stiffness for more effective cutting. With a 5.0Ah battery fitted, it can make up to 50 cuts in 1″ schedule 80 steel tubing and up to 90 cuts in 2×10 lumber (battery and charger sold separately).

All-Purpose Recipro Saw Blade

The One-Handed Recipro Saw is designed with a low-vibration structure that can reduce vibration by up to 40%. Its counterweight mechanism on the XRJ08 helps to reduce vibration levels during cutting. Longer tool use times are a result of low vibration levels. Convenience features include a compact, ergonomic form that is only 14-3/8″ long, making it perfect for overhead applications and working in confined locations. The One-Handed Recipro Saw weighs only 5.5 lbs. to help reduce operator fatigue (with battery, sold separately). To reduce downtime between blade replacements, it has a toolless blade changing system. The workspace is illuminated by an integrated L.E.D. light, and the grip is rubberized soft for added comfort. It is a component of Makita’s increasing 18V Lithium-Ion system, the biggest cordless tool system in the world that is powered by slide-style 18V Lithium-Ion batteries. Since Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the quickest charge times in their categories, they are always ready to use and never idle.

Makita developed Star Protection Computer Control to increase tool performance and battery life. In order to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating, Star Protection is a communication technology that enables the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to share data in real time and monitor usage circumstances. Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries, which feature Star Protection on the interior, can also be used to power the tool for greater versatility.
