The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) elects Angela Bouma as new President

The board of directors of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) has appointed Angela Bouma as the association’s next president.

Bouma, a senior manager of compliance and risk at Crystal Cabinet Works in Princeton, Minnesota, will serve a one-year term, beginning on June 1, 2026.

Marking an important milestone in the association’s history, Angela Bouma becomes the first woman to serve as president of the KCMA board. Her appointment follows nearly a decade of dedicated leadership on the board of directors, where she has served continuously since 2018, most recently in the role of treasurer.

“I’ve literally grown up inside the KCMA, so it’s almost by osmosis that my vision and theirs align very closely,” Bouma said. “I started doing KCMA committee work more than 20 years ago, beginning on the Government and Regulatory Affairs committee. The work at the KCMA committee level is really where a lot of the heavy lifting happens in terms of supporting our industry.” Bouma added further.

Environmental stewardship advocate

As an environmental professional, Bouma was a key architect of the Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP), serving as the outgoing chair of that committee. The ESP is a comprehensive certification from KCMA that addresses critical pillars of modern cabinet manufacturing, including:

Environmental and sustainability criteria
Product lifecycle and reduction of waste
Community involvement and social responsibility

“Millennials are driving most purchases these days, and it’s relatively well-known that sustainability is a big driver for their purchasing decisions,” Bouma said. “I really encourage members and non-members to take a fresh look at our ESP and learn how they can become certified in this important environmental program.” Bouma concluded.

Since the program was established, Bouma has played a key role in refining and updating its criteria to ensure continued relevance to the cabinet manufacturing industry, evolving sustainability initiatives, and changing consumer expectations.

Bouma is committed to strengthening the association’s impact through membership growth and increased engagement from active members.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1955 to represent companies who manufacture cabinets, bath cabinets, or other residential cabinets and key kitchen and bath industry suppliers. With a membership of almost 300 companies throughout North America, KCMA works to advance the cabinet industry through advocacy, setting cabinet quality standards, sponsoring kitchen and bath cabinet-related research and providing the cabinet industry with management tools and educational programs to grow their business.
