USNR, a global leader in wood processing technologies, is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Norwood Industries, a renowned supplier of portable sawmills. Based just north of Toronto, Ontario, Norwood will continue to operate as an independent sister company alongside USNR, Burton Mill Solutions, and Mid-South Engineering.
Founded in 1993, Norwood Sawmills has built a solid reputation for innovation, rugged reliability, and versatility in the wood processing industry. With over 35,000 units sold across more than 100 countries, Norwood is recognized for its modular, highly configurable product range. The company’s portfolio includes portable band sawmills, chainsaw mills, forestry tools, and related accessories, catering to hobbyists, landowners, and small business owners, particularly in North America and Europe. From entry-level models to high-capacity hydraulic sawmills, Norwood’s offerings are designed to be adaptable and scalable to meet the diverse needs of its customers.
This acquisition expands USNR’s reach into the portable sawmill market, a segment of the woodworking industry that the company has not previously engaged with. Norwood’s established brand, backed by more than 85 patents, aligns with USNR’s strategy to diversify its portfolio and enhance its capabilities across the wood processing value chain.
