CADAMDA announced the commissioning of a new steering committee, which was defined at the end of 2016 and will remain active until 2019. A new mandate and renewal of authorities, with the focus on continuing to strengthen the positioning in promoting construction with Timber, both for its lower costs and faster, and especially for its characteristic of being sustainable.
At the head of the entity and as its new president , will be Lic. Osvaldo Vassallo , accompanied by Mr. Dante Dommarco in the vice presidency.
Among its objectives, Vassallo will focus on increasing the use of wood in construction in all its uses and positioning the construction system with wooden frames, the most used in the world as a solution to build houses of all types (buildings, High-end, mid-range and social housing). It will also seek to contribute to reduce the housing deficit in Argentina, through an activity that generates labor intensive, using local sustainable raw material, since the wood from forestations is renewable, recyclable and carbon neutral.
Vassallo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Organization. He is currently President of the Argentine Forestry Association AFoA, President of the National Forest Certification System (CERFOAR), member of the Industrial Confederation of Pulp and Paper Latin America, member of the Argentine Industrial Union UIA and member of the Argentine Business Council for the Sustainable development. He is also in charge of the Institutional Relations of the group Celulosa Argentina.
