Olon, a manufacturer of moudings, drawers and components for the cabinet making and furniture industry has acquired Carolina Drawers Inc. based in Lexington, N.C. Carolina Drawers is a manufacturer of a solid wood and plywood drawers for the U.S kitchen & bath cabinet and furniture industries.
“CDI’s customer base and product offer are a perfect complement to Olon’s growing business,” said Don Hambly, President & CEO of Georgetown, Ontario-based Olon Industries.
While Olon’s existing drawer components focuses on Chinese plywood, particleboard based product and wrapped drawer components, Carolina Drawers offers solid wood components sourced from around the world, as well as a complete line of Baltic Birch plywood products.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for Carolina Drawers,” Mast said in the announcement. “We will leverage the expertise and resources of Olon to take Carolina Drawers to the next level.”
From its three plants, Carolina Drawers is vertically integrated with operation spanning from kiln drying and rough milling through to UV finishing, dovetailing and drawer box assembly.
