84 Lumber, a leading supplier of building materials in the United States, has proudly announced West Fraser, a Vancouver-based forest products company, as its 2024 Vendor of the Year. This annual award recognizes a vendor’s commitment to service and sales growth, and West Fraser was selected for its outstanding contributions to 84 Lumber’s success.
“84 Lumber has been purchasing from West Fraser for as long as I’ve been here – which is 40 years,” said Mitch Wagner, Vice President of Purchasing at 84 Lumber. “West Fraser’s wide range of wood products, including OSB, panels, and lumber, have been critical in supporting our high-volume business needs. Their products have helped us supply customers across the single-family, multifamily, and commercial construction sectors.”
West Fraser, founded in 1955 by three brothers who bought a small planing mill in Quesnel, British Columbia, has since grown into a leading diversified wood products company with operations across Canada and the United States. Today, West Fraser is a key partner for 84 Lumber, supplying a range of essential products, including Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF), Southern Yellow Pine (SYP), and Oriented Strand Board (OSB). The company has become 84 Lumber’s largest supplier of these materials in 2024.
“In the 1980s, West Fraser was a major lumber producer in Western Canada,” Wagner continued. “Now, they have expanded into the Southern U.S. and are the largest OSB producer in North America. Despite their growth, they’ve always maintained a focus on excellent customer service.”
