APA – The Engineered Wood Association warmly welcomes Jennifer Coskren as the new VP

 Monday, January 12, 2026

APA – The Engineered Wood Association has announced the appointment of Jennifer Coskren as vice president of economic analysis and market research, strengthening the organization’s leadership at a time when housing, construction, and engineered wood markets continue to navigate shifting economic conditions. Coskren officially assumes the role on January 12, succeeding Joe Elling, who retired from the association in December.

Coskren brings more than two decades of experience in economic analysis, with a professional focus on housing, timber, and wood products markets across North America. She holds a Master of Science in business economics from Bentley University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics, magna cum laude, from Regis College. Her academic foundation, combined with extensive industry experience, positions her to guide APA’s economic research initiatives supporting engineered wood manufacturers and related stakeholders.

Prior to joining APA, Coskren served as director of North American wood and timber at Fastmarkets. In that role, she led a team of economists responsible for delivering market forecasts, data-driven analysis, and strategic insights to senior leadership and a global client base. Her work emphasized econometric modeling and housing-related demand indicators, with particular attention to timber and wood products supply chains in the United States and Canada.

Throughout her career, Coskren has built a reputation as a trusted industry voice, regularly publishing market outlooks and advising stakeholders on macroeconomic trends, public policy developments, and evolving market dynamics. Earlier, she spent several years at Dodge Data & Analytics, where she played a key role in developing construction forecasting models and co-creating the Dodge Momentum Index, a widely referenced leading indicator of nonresidential construction spending.

In her new position at APA, Coskren will oversee the association’s economic research and market intelligence programs. Her responsibilities include leading the development of economic outlooks, industry reports, and data analysis that support APA member companies producing structural panels and engineered wood products. These reports are widely relied upon across the engineered wood sector for insight into demand and production trends.

APA’s economic publications track a broad range of indicators affecting the industry, including new and existing home sales, housing inventories, mortgage rates, housing starts and forecasts, nonresidential construction activity, and consumer data. The information plays a critical role in helping manufacturers, builders, and suppliers anticipate market conditions and make informed business decisions.

Commenting on the appointment, APA President Mark Tibbetts stated that Coskren’s analytical expertise and industry knowledge will enhance the association’s ability to deliver reliable, forward-looking insights. Her leadership is expected to further strengthen APA’s role as a trusted source of economic and market intelligence for the engineered wood products industry.
