Axos Designs

Axos Designs, a New York-based custom millwork manufacturer known for delivering high-end architectural interiors for flagship retail, hospitality, and residential projects, has announced the acquisition of a new 30,000-square-foot production facility in Long Island City. The expansion responds to record demand for bespoke millwork and marks a significant milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy.

The new factory, located minutes from Manhattan, will operate alongside Axos’ existing 10,000-square-foot plant nearby. Together, the two sites will increase the firm’s total millwork production footprint to nearly 40,000 square feet—effectively quadrupling capacity compared with previous years. The move positions Axos to scale operations while maintaining the craftsmanship and precision that have defined its reputation in New York’s competitive design and construction market.

Axos Designs has become a trusted manufacturing partner for some of New York City’s most recognisable retail and hospitality brands. Its recent local portfolio includes the newly opened Kith Ivy members-only wellness and padel club, luxury fashion retailer Aimé Leon Dore, and a series of upscale hospitality venues such as Casa Cipriani, Crane Club, Le Bar Penelope, Marquee New York, and Huso.

The company has also delivered extensive millwork packages for multiple Avra restaurant locations across Hudson Yards, Madison Avenue, and Rockefeller Center, as well as bespoke interiors for luxury private residences designed by award-winning architectural practices. Beyond New York, Axos has completed notable commissions including Avra Beverly Hills in California and Casadonna Miami in Florida, demonstrating its ability to execute complex projects nationwide.

Once fully operational later this year, the new Long Island City facility is expected to nearly double Axos’ workforce. The expansion will create roles for skilled artisans, cabinet makers, finishers, installers, and project support staff, reinforcing the company’s commitment to in-house craftsmanship.

Axos is making significant capital investments to outfit the space with advanced manufacturing infrastructure. Planned upgrades include state-of-the-art CNC machinery, vacuum-sealed spray booths for premium finishes, dedicated conference and collaboration areas, and a showroom for client engagement. The facility will also integrate artificial intelligence-driven systems to improve production planning, job tracking, and performance analysis—enhancing efficiency without compromising quality.

Beyond increased millwork output, the new facility represents the first step in a broader vertical integration strategy. Axos Designs plans to expand beyond wood fabrication into complementary trades, including metal fabrication in 2026, followed by glass and stone capabilities.

The company is actively evaluating acquisition opportunities across the US East Coast to accelerate this multi-material expansion. By integrating specialised fabrication and finishing partners into a single operational platform, Axos aims to create a unified production ecosystem capable of delivering fully coordinated architectural elements under one roof. This approach reduces reliance on third-party vendors, improves quality control across materials, and allows tighter scheduling on complex builds. For architects and designers, it offers a single-source solution for bespoke furnishings and interiors that blend wood, metal, glass, and stone with consistent detailing and finish standards.

With vertical integration, Axos expects to significantly shorten project lead times by eliminating inter-shop transportation and fragmented communication between multiple fabricators. Coordinated production also enables higher tolerances and greater design flexibility—particularly valuable for luxury retail and hospitality environments where precision and visual consistency are critical.

As architectural interiors continue to demand increasingly complex, multi-material solutions, Axos’ model aligns closely with evolving client expectations for efficiency, accountability, and craftsmanship.

Axos Designs is led by owner Chris Yerolemou, whose background bridges finance and fine woodworking. A former Wall Street investment banker, Yerolemou took over the family business founded by his father—a master woodworker who immigrated from Cyprus nearly 30 years ago.

According to Yerolemou, the company’s core strength in high-end millwork manufacturing has driven revenue growth of approximately 55% this year alone. He notes that expanding fabrication capacity and material capabilities will allow Axos to support more of the large-scale, design-driven projects that have fuelled its success.

Situated just over the 59th Street Bridge, the new Long Island City plant offers direct access to Manhattan and the wider New York metropolitan area. The location provides logistical advantages for delivery, installation, and collaboration with architects, designers, and contractors across the region.

As demand for bespoke architectural interiors continues to rise, Axos Designs’ expansion underscores the strength of the custom millwork manufacturing sector—and signals a shift toward integrated, multi-material production models built to serve the next generation of luxury design.
