Blue-Spruce-Toolworks

Blue Spruce launches the brand-new Deluxe Mortising Gauge, which blends a traditional style with contemporary materials. Accurate marking is the first step to accurate joinery. That lesson is immediately apparent the first time a mortising or marking gauge is used in place of a pencil. The brand-new Deluxe Mortising Gauge from Blue Spruce Toolworks has spinning radius bars and a variety of cutting blades made of 1095 tool steel. In a way that no other marking gauge in the world can, the function and practicality of this marking gauge addresses marking needs.

The four-knife design gives customers the option of using a single blade to create a single line for dovetail baselines or marking depth. Both knives can be utilized for a larger range of tasks, including mortise-and-tenon joinery, dadoes, grooves, and inlays, by simply sliding the base. The opposing blade bevels on either side of the beam guarantee that the bevels always face the waste, orienting your chisel for its last, oh-so-satisfying pieces of chopping.

Customizable colors

The robust stainless steel radius bars ensure that marking needs are still a priority even when the project takes a turn, both figuratively and physically, beyond the beams and into the body. The radius bars rotate out when on using a small flat-blade screwdriver, providing the user with two points of contact to use as a reference on their workpiece. The Deluxe Mortising Gauge follows curves with ease and creates flawless inlay borders. When the user is ready to get back to a straight surface, the bars tuck right back into the body. Even the world’s most popular mortising and marking gauges are tarnished by pieces that don’t fit properly. That’s why the Deluxe Mortising Gauge’s sliding beams and bodies are expertly precision-machined from aircraft-grade aluminium by Blue Spruce Toolworks to provide a snug fit that is sturdy enough to last for generations. The locking knob and radius bars are turned from solid stainless steel. 1095 tool steel blades slice through wood fibers, leaving behind a crisp, repeatable reference line.

Further, the Deluxe Mortising Gauge can also be customized in any of the three traditional anodized colors, much like other Blue Spruce designs. Beginning in late March 2023, the Blue Spruce Mortise Gauge will be shipped.
