Brazilian wood-based product exports (apart from pulp and paper) fell 10% in value from January 2024 to January 2025, from US$ 294.9 million to US$ 265.1 million, according to ITTO. Nonetheless, the value of pine sawn wood exports rose by 3% between January 2024 (US$ 48.2 mil) and January 2025 (US$ 49.6 mil). Exports fell from 221,600 m3 to 210,700 m3 in volume over the same period, a 5% decline.
On top of that, the volume of tropical sawn wood shipments rose by 12%, from 24,700 m3 in January 2024 to 27,700 m3 in January 2025. On the other hand, over the same time, export revenue dropped by 3%, from $11.3 million to $11.0 million. The value of pine plywood exports rose from US$58.4 million to US$61.9 million in January 2025, a 6% rise from January 2024. Over the same period, exports rose from 188,600 m3 to 195,600 m3, a 4% rise in volume.
Tropical plywood shipments went from 1,100 m3 and US$ 1.7 mil in January 2024 to 1,000 m3 and US$ 1.8 mil in January 2025, a 6% rise in volume but a 9% fall in value. The value of wooden furniture exports decreased by over 10%, from US$38.6 million in January 2024 to US$34.8 million in January 2025.
