In its September 4 announcement regarding the closure of its Plateau and Fort St. John operations, Canfor Corporation (TSX) reiterated its commitment to exploring opportunities to divest portions of its northern BC tenure. This initiative aims to support other BC manufacturers facing similar challenges in accessing economically viable fibre for their operations.
The company has received expressions of interest from several parties and will carefully evaluate its options, engaging in discussions as necessary. In line with standard business practices, Canfor will provide public updates only if and when a significant development occurs.
