Canusa Wood – recognized as one of the North America’s leading quality importers of hardwood plywood, MDF and specialty panels is happy to declare that they have designated Sullivan Lattimer as the new Territory Manager.

With over 12 years of experience in the wood products industry, Sully brings a strong foundation in both product knowledge and customer relationships. Since joining Canusa five years ago, he has played a key role in driving sales and supporting customers across his region. Known for his integrity and relationship-first approach, Sully is committed to understanding his customers’ needs and delivering reliable, tailored solutions that support their success.

“We’re proud to have Sully on the Canusa team.” – Canusa Wood.

Canusa team has worked tirelessly to build the strongest mill supplier relationships in the world, and they remain involved in managing every step of the plywood importing supply chain. Many of their relationships with mills and ownership have spanned multiple generations. In fact, they regularly visit their mills throughout the globe to oversee production and inspect their operations.

“We take great pride in managing all facets of the product pipeline ensuring we do ‘the right thing’ for our customers every step of the way. Our sales people are also our buyers. We don’t guess at what the market might buy and then try to convince our customers to buy stock inventory. Instead, because our sales territory managers operate as both buyer and seller — without department walls — there are no competing agendas, nothing is lost in translation, and we remain entirely focused on our customers’ actual needs.”

“Our approach helps us build the perfect stocking program, whilst enforcing and ensuring our strict quality control at every stage of production. We are proud to be the North America’s premier stocking distributor of high-quality imported wood products.” – Canusa Wood.

At Canusa Wood, they work hand-in-hand alongside mills and customers to ensure the wood products they buy and sell reflect the commitment to quality and standards they uphold in every aspect of theur business. Canusa’s core areas of specialty include sourcing, distribution, quality assurance, compliance, and innovation.

Quality assurance from Canusa Wood

Canusa’s experienced Grading & Quality Control teams, conduct inspections (and training) at partner mills worldwide. They enforce strict quality standards from setup through production, ensuring compliance with HPVA and Canusa Grade Standards, EPA/LACEY/FSC regulations, and our own SOPs.

Rigorous grading systems are used to inspect every panel, keep detailed records, and address issues onsite before shipment. They provide crucial insights on mill activities, inform R&D, assess market trends, and ensure top-quality products like Premcore® and Premcore®Plus.

Sustainability with Canusa

Canusa Wood is increasingly recognized as a sustainable building material due to its renewable nature and low environmental impact. Unlike concrete or steel, which require significant energy to produce, wood is sourced from forests that can be managed and replenished.

Sustainable forestry practices, such as selective harvesting and reforestation, ensure that trees are harvested responsibly without depleting forest resources. Additionally, wood products can store carbon throughout their lifespan, helping to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. When sourced from well-managed forests and processed using eco-friendly methods, wood can be an environmentally friendly choice for construction projects.

Canusa Wood is proud to partner with mills and vendors that value our forests and the environmental footprint of the industry; working to keep forests sustainable and renewable for generations to come.
