Castaly to present CNC routers at SIBO
 Monday, October 17, 2022
Castaly Canada will demonstrate its latest CNC technology at Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO), October 27-29 at the Centrexpo Cogeco. Two of the machines that Castaly will feature are members of the Rapid CNC router family.
One of the machines has an 8-tool linear-type automatic tool changer and the other has a 12-tool linear-type automatic tool changer. The 8-tool machine has a rear table for increased productivity.
The 12-tool machine has an automatic pneumatic push under the gantry for increased productivity. In addition, a pneumatic roller press system facilitates cutting small parts by holding them in place to the vacuum table. An integrated vacuum cleaner removes all dust remaining on the table in seconds.
Features of each of the machines include:
- All axes are driven by high torque brushless type AC servo motors.
- The CNC controller is configured to accept standard G-code programming formats as well as on-board conversational applications.
- The optional CAD/CAM system can create and modify part programs, then send them to the machine for easy cutting. DXF files can be imported, modified and edited from here to create G-code.
- DNC is no longer necessary because the PC directly stores all part programs in an editable text file.
- The machine is designed for use in 3D cutting.
- Mobile gantry construction for space saving.
- The HSD spindle uses CP4 DB bearings with a dust-free design.
- Automatic spindle frequency brake enables rapid deceleration resulting in faster tool changes.
- Linear guides and sliding blocks are prismatic preloaded with recirculating bearings to ensure maximum speed and accuracy.
- The X and Y axes are equipped with a precision rack and pinion drive system.
- The Z axis uses a complete ball screw assembly with the screw preloaded and ground for long life and optimum accuracy.
- Specially designed 6-zone vacuum table surface for strong hold.
