In Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, Chelsea Building Products recently began construction on a new manufacturing plant that would span 228,000 square feet. In addition to providing more area for mixing compound ingredients, the project will boost the company’s ability to produce PVC window and door profiles.
When finished, the building will have a 10,000-amp electrical service, 10 fully equipped dock locations, 32 feet of clear height, an insulated precast structure, and production facilities with 100-by-50-foot bays. Additionally, a possible expansion of about 170,000 square feet is accommodated in the facility’s architecture.
This project is the second factory in Pennsylvania and the third manufacturing site for Chelsea Building Products. The other factory owned by the firm is located in Greenville, Texas.
“Chelsea Building Products is excited to continue with its aggressive expansion plans by opening a second facility in Pennsylvania,” expressed Peter Dewil, the CEO of Chelsea Building Products. He went on, “This facility will allow us to increase our capacity to meet the ever-growing demand for our products. It will also improve efficiencies by bringing manufacturing and warehousing under a single roof. We are also thrilled to be bringing more job opportunities to the Westmoreland County community.”
Chelsea Building Products was formed in 1975 and creates and extrudes PVC and composite profiles for the construction industry, which are utilized in Everlast Advanced Composite Siding, windows, doors, shutters, and moldings.
