Con-Vey 80 years

In 2026, Con-Vey proudly commemorates its 80th anniversary, marking eight decades of steady growth, technical excellence, and deep-rooted commitment to industrial problem-solving. Headquartered in Roseburg, Oregon, Con-Vey’s journey reflects the evolution of American manufacturing itself—moving from hands-on machine repair to advanced industrial automation and robotics solutions serving customers worldwide.

The company’s origins trace back to 1946, when it was founded as Keystone Machine Works. At the time, Keystone operated as a small fabrication and machine shop supporting sawmills and regional industries throughout Southern Oregon. Its early focus on repairing critical equipment and fabricating custom components established a culture centered on durability, ingenuity, and practical engineering principles that continue to define Con-Vey today.

As industrial needs expanded over the decades, so did Con-Vey’s capabilities. The business gradually evolved from repair and fabrication into comprehensive material handling systems, custom machinery, and integrated automation technologies. By the 1970s, the company was operating as Con-Vey Keystone, reflecting its broader industrial reach. Subsequent growth and ownership transitions ultimately led to the formation of Con-Vey LLC, while preserving the company’s original values.

Unlike many manufacturers that experience rapid, disruptive change, Con-Vey’s transformation has been deliberate and customer-driven. “Con-Vey’s story is one of steady evolution, not overnight change,” said Dave Larecy, CEO of Con-Vey. “I started here as a shop sweeper in high school, and over more than 30 years, I’ve seen how this company grows—by listening, learning, and taking pride in the work. From the early Keystone days to where we are now, the heart of Con-Vey has always been the people who build here.”

Today, Con-Vey is recognized as a world-class industrial automation and equipment manufacturer, delivering proprietary, American-made solutions to customers in nearly 20 countries. Its industrial portfolio spans multiple sectors, including building products, bulk and biomass handling, agricultural processing, environmental systems, and advanced automation technology.

In 2018, the organization restructured under Con-Vey Holding Inc., supporting multiple operating companies such as Con-Vey LLC and 7robotics LLC. This structure allows the business to integrate traditional material handling expertise with cutting-edge robotics and automation—helping manufacturers improve efficiency, safety, and long-term performance.

“Being part of Con-Vey means being part of something that’s deeply tied to this region,” said Jeremy Goebel, President of Con-Vey. “I started here in sales in 2013, and I’ve watched how our teams grow alongside our customers. Our success has always come from taking ownership, staying curious, and showing up for the industries and communities we serve. As we enter our 80th year, we’re focused on building forward while staying grounded in where we came from.”

Throughout its 80-year history, Con-Vey has maintained strong ties to Southern Oregon and the surrounding communities. Beyond manufacturing industrial equipment, the company actively supports workforce development initiatives, partnerships with local schools, and technical training programs. These efforts introduce future generations to careers in manufacturing, engineering, automation, and skilled trades—ensuring that industrial expertise remains strong in the region. This local investment reflects Con-Vey’s belief that sustainable growth depends on people as much as technology. By cultivating talent close to home, the company reinforces its long-standing role as a cornerstone of industrial manufacturing in the Pacific Northwest.

To commemorate its 80th anniversary, Con-Vey will host a year-long series of employee, customer, and community-focused initiatives throughout 2026. These activities will highlight the people, projects, and partnerships that have shaped the company’s legacy—while reinforcing its vision for the future of industrial automation.

Storytelling efforts will spotlight decades of custom machinery projects, innovative material handling systems, and collaborative problem-solving that have helped customers succeed across diverse industrial environments. From sawmills and agricultural processors to advanced manufacturing operations, Con-Vey’s solutions continue to be designed for long-term reliability and performance.

“We’re proud of our history, but we’re not finished building,” Larecy added. “This anniversary is about honoring the past, appreciating the people who brought us here, and continuing to create solutions that last.”
