Confor announced a forwarder competition which is organised and sponsored by Euroforest Limited. Euroforest Limited, the show’s major gold sponsor, is once again organising a forwarder competition alongside its harvesting demonstrations in the woodland area. First prize, generously provided by Winchester Garden Machinery, is a pair of SIP Innovation Class A chainsaw trousers and jacket. The second and third prizes, kindly provided by Euroforest, are a scale model forwarder and a harvester.
Operators will be judged on their operational prowess and safety through a short assessment by industry FMOC (Forest Machine Operator Certificate) assessors. The competition, which will run over the two days of the show, will culminate with one champion. The event is open to all visitors to the show who hold the correct FMOC certification. Competition rules are shown on the competition application form.

For many, the competition is the highlight of the show, but there is a whole programme of other events, such as, demonstrations in the arena, including UK Loggers team and the thrilling axemen. There are seminars and debates in the Confor marquee, while other exhibitors have launches and there is even a chance to have a go at axe-throwing and archery.
Chairman of the show committee, Nick Hoare, said: “Everything is coming together to make this action-packed, two-day event a huge success. There is so much to celebrate in forestry and the show does just that.
