DMT promotes Sixth season of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac

 Thursday, October 1, 2015

th_DMT_logo_C3_1x1DMT Diamond Machining Technology is proud to announce its sponsorship of the sixth season of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac, the Emmy-nominated series produced by WGBH. The new season starts airing on PBS stations on Saturday, October 3 (check local listings) and will include four special episodes—dubbed the “Master Showcase Series”—in which host Tommy MacDonald travels to different locations to learn new techniques from some of the country’s best woodworkers.

In each of this season’s 13 episodes, Tommy turns design inspiration into easy-to-follow projects for woodworkers at all levels. With his trademark passion and expertise, he tackles each project with a range of materials and methods, offering his “T-Mac tips” on the more challenging techniques.

“Tommy is a topnotch woodworker, and Rough Cut is an excellent program that speaks to a wide audience—from serious craftsmen to casual, weekend woodworkers. We’re pleased to align our name and reputation with Tommy and the series for the third year in a row,” said Mark Brandon, president of DMT.

As a Rough Cut sponsor, DMT is the exclusive supplier of sharpening equipment for the show and has provided several of its diamond sharpening stones for Tommy’s wood shop. These stones may be used during the program when sharpening a tool is part of a featured project. In addition, DMT will be mentioned at the beginning and end of each episode, and will be listed on the series website.

“We are big fans of DMT and love having them be part of our Rough Cut family,” said Executive Producer Laurie Donnelly.
2016 will mark DMT’s 40th anniversary. Founded on the principles of innovation, precision and excellence, the company has come to be known worldwide as “The leader in diamond sharpening.” Its Made in USA sharpeners feature the DMT Difference: superior diamond coverage and uniformity combined with unrivaled flatness.
