DN Solutions

DN Solutions unveiled the all new SVM 5100L vertical machining center, a larger version of the SVM 4100, with a vision to address the market gap between DN’s DEM and DNM series. The SVM 5100L is yet another illustration of how DN Solutions caters to every industry that their clients operate in, according to Andy McNamara, vice president of sales and marketing. The demand for high-speed, light-cutting applications is increasing as more diecast components are used in higher production settings. According to him, the classic C-frame design structure used in the SVM 5100L is tailored to satisfy those objectives.

“With its addition to the lineup, customers can now choose between different sizes of SVM models. And of course, for more robust materials, the best-selling DNM line is always available.”

Built in AICC II and nano interpolation

The SVM 5100L’s 25 hp (18.5 kW) motor produces 70.5 ft-lbs (95.5 kW) of torque when the spindle is turned at a speed of 12,000 r/min. 50 inches (1,270 mm) is the X axis travel, and 20.1 inches is the Y and Z axis travel (510 mm.) The quick federate is 1,417 ipm (36 m/min), and the maximum table capacity is 1,763.7 pounds (800 kg). Although it is economical, the SVM 5100L is not a basic machine model. This VMC is loaded with capabilities that other machine tool makers frequently add on at additional cost, such as a double-arm ATC with 30 tools and a CAT 40 BIG-PLUS spindle system.

Similar to the smaller 4100, the performance of the SVM 5100L has been improved to deliver quicker cycle times by lowering the XYZ axes’ and the spindle’s acceleration/deceleration times, hence reducing non-cutting time. Included in the base pricing is a FANUC 0i-Plus control with an iHMi touchscreen interface. For a quicker, more precise profile and finish, it includes AICC II and nano interpolation built in.

“The SVM series stands out because it has much more to offer when compared to the other options available in the marketplace,” according to McNamara.
