As a founding member of Enviva, Mr. Meth previously served as president, where he collaborated closely with Mr. Keppler and was in charge of overseeing all company operations from the forest, through the operations and logistics, and eventually to the discharge of their clients. Mr. Meth has been in charge of Enviva’s sustainability, fibre procurement, sales, and customer relations departments. He has also been in charge of managing international public affairs efforts as well as larger plant and port operations. Mr. Meth has an M.B.A. from The Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at The University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Commerce from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in Austria.

Mr. Keppler explains, “The Board and I are delighted that Thomas Meth will serve as our next CEO. Thomas has been my closest business partner in building Enviva into the great company it is today, and I know he will continue to excel in leading Enviva’s growth trajectory as we execute our plan for the future. Thomas is an exceptionally skilled leader who has full command of all facets of the company and has earned the respect of our employees, customers, investors, and other key stakeholders.”

Ralph Alexander, a member of the Board since 2013, is expected to fulfil Mr. Keppler’s duties as Chairman of the Board until his return. Mr. Alexander is anticipated to become Lead Independent Director post this.
