Genesis Products has disclosed in a press statement that it has purchased Virginia-based drawer-making specialist BHK of America. The acquisition will combine Genesis Products’ 20 years of experience as a provider of laminated panels, wood components, and custom molded solutions utilized in RV manufacture with BHK’s 46 years of manufacturing drawer components. Financial terms of the acquisition remain confidential.
Combined strengths of Genesis and BHK
According to Jon Wenger, CEO of Genesis Products, the combined strengths of Genesis and BHK will improve product offers and services to the residential kitchen cabinet, furniture, and closet industries. Both teams have consistently prioritized on providing clients with services across several industries.

Wenger throws light on how the initial plan for the acquisition was to retain the current BHK leadership and sales team. On November 30, the transaction was finalized. In consideration of distributor and customer needs, the objective is to accelerate BHK’s product and capacity growth. With Genesis Factory 4 and BHK’s plant nearby, the acquisition further increases Genesis Products’ presence on the East coast.
The BHK team joins the Genesis family as experts in vinyl-wrapped drawer parts, including their linear miter-fold option that they introduced from Europe 45 years ago, in addition to having a well-established network of distributors.
A clear opportunity to build on Genesis’ 20 years of experience in drawer components was presented by the acquisition strategy. According to Wenger, they are very thrilled to be expanding their current plywood offering to include the DuraWrap range. The product lines of both businesses will be displayed in Booth W1800 at the International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, from January 31 to February 2.
