H.B. Fuller invests in UK-Based Sanglier Limited

 Monday, October 9, 2023

H.B. Fuller Co. announced that it has acquired the business of UK-based Sanglier Limited, one of Europe’s largest independently owned manufacturers and fillers of sprayable industrial adhesives.

The acquisition expands H.B. Fuller’s manufacturing footprint, innovation capabilities, and product portfolio across the UK and Europe, particularly in the construction adhesives and engineering adhesives businesses, complementing technologies obtained through the acquisitions of Apollo and Fourny and spray capabilities acquired and developed in the United States.

“Transforming adhesive applications to enable sprayable delivery provides end users with an opportunity to greatly improve labor efficiency. This is particularly valuable in today’s tight labor market and is a key megatrend that H.B. Fuller is applying its unique innovation capabilities toward to enable our customers’ success,” said Boz Malik, senior vice president, H.B. Fuller Construction.

“Sanglier shares a similar business model, which includes providing customized, high-quality solutions to support and develop our customers’ brands. This acquisition will strengthen the integration of our adhesive manufacturing and packaging capabilities, which we will leverage to generate a strong market advantage in terms of operations, innovation, and service.”

The team of nearly 60 employees will operate within H.B. Fuller’s existing Construction Adhesives global business unit.

At H.B. Fuller, innovators are constantly seeking new ways to meet the customer’s needs and expectations. Efficiency, energy consumption and process costs are subjects that are getting more attention and require new approaches to adhesive formulation and manufacturing.

A large furniture manufacturer was having difficulties caused by the lack of thermal stability while using an adhesive solution available on the market. During the production process this was leading to issues in the heating system, causing cracks in the material and poor surface quality. Consequently, output levels were decreasing as costs were rising. Therefore, when a customer is looking for a solution to increase productivity and quality levels with less downtime, H.B. Fuller offers best solutions to help the manufacturer overcome these challenges in manufacturing.
