Häfele America Co. inaugurates new NYC Showroom

 Friday, March 17, 2017

haefeleThe latest in LED lighting, decorative and functional hardware and architectural sliding has a new home: the all-new New York City showroom for Häfele America Co. now open to the design, architectural and millwork communities as well as the general public, this modern nearly 4,000 sq. ft., European inspired space features innovative hardware solutions and components for all manner of commercial and residential projects.

The product of a collaborative effort and integrated approach between Perkins+Will’s New York Interior Design team and the Chicago-based Branded Environments team, the space brings Häfele’s extensive product portfolio to life with real-world application and unparalleled attention to detail.

“Our goal in building this showroom was to create a hardware destination for people all over the world to admire, appreciate and experience all that Häfele uniquely has to offer,” said Paul K. Smith, president of Häfele America Co. “The result is a powerful presentation of how our company’s global reach and brand directly supports projects large and small.” Smith added further.

The distinctive, modular design of Häfele’s showroom allows the space to accommodate regular, day-to-day visitors then easily transform to host a multitude of industry educational seminars, training programs, cocktail receptions, open house events and more in support of architects, designers and architectural millworkers. Häfele showroom events are often affiliated with NKBA, AIA, SARA, ASID, IIDA, IFDA, CSI or other like-minded organisations.

“The need for flexibility in shifting the showroom from one event to the next really allowed us to get very creative when it came to the holistic design as well as specific component placement and functionality,” commented Eileen Jones, IIDA, SEGD, AIGA, LEED AP, Perkins+Will’s Principal, Branded Environments Global Practice Leader. “This space balances a tremendously high level of detail without being crowded or forced.” Jones concluded.

Highlights of Häfele’s NYC Showroom include:

The kitchen everyone wants

Viewing products which help increase the functionality and everyday usability of kitchens—whether residential or commercial—on their own just doesn’t make sense. In cooperation with our trusted vendor partners Bright Wood Works of St. Petersburg, FL and Handmade Furniture Company of West Creek, NJ, Häfele created two unique kitchen displays to feature a wide array of products to inspire designers, architects and millworkers for their next projects.

Innovation everywhere you look

Innovative products in great quantities call for innovative displays, and the solution came about through custom, product specific, mobile carriages organized by category and family such as Häfele’s Loox LED lighting, MX drawer systems, Slido door hardware, decorative hardware selections and more. When being shown, each carriage easily moves out for viewing and then conveniently stacks when not in use.

Come together, right here

At Häfele,  they build strong, lasting relationships with the customers they’re lucky enough to serve and work with on a daily basis. Our all-new showroom extends that philosophy as a place for designers, architects and millworkers to meet—be it formally or informally—and exchange ideas in an effort to learn something new, perfect their craft or simply discuss how the latest innovation affects their work. This is why their showroom staff actively partners with professional industry organizations throughout the New York City metropolitan area and beyond to offer our space—schedule permitting—as a place to meet, gather and engage one another. To Haefele, their mutual success depends upon it.
