Matthias Bertl has taken over as CEO of Hettich America, a leading manufacturer of high-end functional fittings and precisely built hardware worldwide.
Bertl, who has almost twenty years of experience, offers a special combination of operational excellence, strategic vision, and in-depth product knowledge to the position. Bertl joined the Hettich Group in 2018 after serving as Head of Procurement Asia at ING Bank N.V. and in Brand Management at Blum Southeast Asia. He has since held international leadership positions throughout Asia, most notably as managing director of Hettich Vietnam, Hettich Indonesia, and Hettich Singapore.
He will supervise Hettich America’s U.S. operations in his new position, which will be situated at the company’s headquarters in Buford, Georgia. His main goals will be to increase market share, drive innovation in the North American market, and raise brand awareness. His hiring comes after Hettich and FGV Group recently merged, setting up the business for faster growth and more market integration.
“Hettich Group is internationally renowned for our unparalleled innovation and trademark German engineering,” shared Bertl. He further mentioned, “As CEO of Hettich America, my goal is to expand our presence in the United States with a hands-on sales approach, engaging loyal trade partners and reaching new consumer audiences with our exceptional solutions offering. Hettich America has untapped potential that I look forward to unleashing with our dedicated colleagues.”
As Hettich America aims to transform from a luxury utilitarian hardware maker into a lifestyle brand known for both form and function, Bertl’s hiring comes at a critical juncture. In his new position, where he will spearhead the company’s objective to provide intelligent solutions for every living area, he offers worldwide experience and a new viewpoint. His strategic goals include growing the hotel industry, establishing local relationships through immersive, market-specific interaction, and constructing showrooms around the United States to provide the Hettich experience directly to consumers.
“Our product is unmatched, and our engineers are the best in the industry,” Bertl continued. “I look forward to immersing myself in American culture as we make Hettich a household name in the U.S. – not just for quality hardware, but for shaping how people experience their living spaces.”
