The International Wood Symposium will be held at January 29, 2015 at Vancouver Convention Centre. This international wood symposium has value, quality and efficiency that takes the design and construction into the next level.
The 2015 International Wood Symposium is a one day specifically tailored to meet the needs of designers and builders. The program will inspire, educate and show examples of how wood building systems constructed off-site are expanding opportunities to create distinctive and expressive structures. Off-site construction is becoming integral to innovative architecture, design, engineering and construction. This fourth annual event follows a sell out program in 2014 and will be another comprehensive one-day international wood symposium designed to inspire and educate architects, structural engineers, design and construction professionals.
Many of the newest and most innovative structures in BC and around the world have something in common. They are constructed using wood building systems constructed off-site using either mass timber panels, engineered wood products, heavy timbers, dimensional lumber or other components.
This program is basically an international platform for several wood projects. It will showcase various wood building systems, the wood products they are made of and their benefits including versatility, flexibility and cost effectiveness and the program will discuss design challenges, explore solutions and examine innovative techniques used in diverse and complex ways.
Various experts will present the research currently taking place, show innovative applications that can be applied today and provide an overview of how these wood building systems are being used in diverse and complex ways.
The 2015 international wood symposium will have various presentation like: why the full opportunities of off-site construction have not yet been realized will be demonstrated by Mark Taylor, Vice President, Permanent Modular Construction, Toronto, Ontario.
