Joe Burgess takes leadership role at Huber Engineered Woods

J.M. Huber Corporation has named Joe Burgess as the next President of Huber Engineered Woods (HEW), marking a new leadership chapter for the engineered wood and building products business.
The appointment was announced by Glenn M. Fish, President & CEO of J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber). Burgess has served as Interim President of HEW since May 2026. Before taking on the interim position, he served as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
His appointment follows a career focused on commercial development and leadership within the building products sector. During his time at HEW, Burgess has contributed to strengthening the company’s market leadership. His work has included strategic customer partnerships, commercial growth initiatives and operational collaboration.
Customer value has remained a central focus of his leadership approach.
The new president brings more than 25 years of experience in the building products industry. His professional background covers several areas of business leadership. These include sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, strategic planning and business development.
Burgess has also focused on developing high-performing teams throughout his career. Strong business results have been pursued alongside a customer-first culture. Safety, innovation and operational excellence have also remained important elements of his leadership approach.
Focus on Customers, Growth and Innovation
In his new position, Burgess will oversee HEW’s ongoing business priorities. The company will continue concentrating on innovative building solutions and stronger relationships with customers.
Market expansion will also remain an important area of focus. HEW is expected to continue pursuing opportunities that support long-term growth while creating value for employees, customers, communities and shareholders.
The leadership transition comes as the company continues to build on its existing business foundation. Customer partnerships and market opportunities will remain central to that effort.
Burgess said the opportunity represents an important next step in his career with the organization.
“I am honored by the opportunity to lead Huber Engineered Woods and work alongside such a talented and dedicated team,” said Burgess. “HEW’s success has always been built on great people, trusted customer relationships, industry-leading brands and a commitment to doing business the right way. We have tremendous momentum, and I am excited to build on our strong foundation as we continue delivering value for our customers and sustainable growth for our shareholders.”
His comments underscore the company’s continued emphasis on people, customer relationships, established brands and sustainable business growth.
Leadership Experience Across the Building Products Sector
Burgess enters the presidency with broad experience across the operational and commercial functions of the industry. His background includes leadership responsibilities that extend beyond sales and marketing.
That experience includes supply chain and operations. It also encompasses strategic planning and business development.
The combination provides exposure to multiple parts of the building products business. It has also supported his work with customers, teams and broader commercial initiatives.
During his tenure at HEW, he has been involved in efforts designed to strengthen the company’s market position. Strategic customer partnerships have been part of that work. Commercial growth initiatives have also played a role.
Huber Leadership Highlights Continued Confidence
Fish pointed to Burgess’ leadership experience and understanding of the business when discussing the appointment.
“Joe has demonstrated exceptional leadership, sound business judgment and an unwavering commitment to our people, customers and the Huber Principles throughout his tenure at HEW,” said Fish. “Since assuming the role of Interim President, Joe has successfully guided the organization while advancing key strategic priorities and driving strong business performance. His deep industry knowledge, operational understanding, and passion for developing people make him the right leader to guide HEW into its next chapter.”
Burgess had already been guiding the organization as Interim President since May 2026. His permanent appointment formalizes that leadership role.
For Huber Engineered Woods, the transition maintains continuity while placing a leader with extensive industry experience at the helm. The company’s stated priorities will continue to center on innovative building solutions, customer relationships, market opportunities and long-term value creation.
The appointment positions Burgess to lead the next phase of HEW’s development while maintaining its focus on employees, customers, communities and shareholders.
