Krystle Seed, Chief Financial Officer of Kalesnikoff, highlighted that this expansion would create approximately 100 new jobs in B.C. The Canadian government, through Natural Resources Canada’s Forest Industry Transformation program, contributed $3 million to infrastructure and equipment, while the Province of B.C.’s Manufacturing Jobs Fund provided $6.725 million to support the new jobs created.
“This new facility represents a pivotal investment in Canada’s innovative, sustainable forest sector. It not only creates good jobs but also supports the communities that rely on our natural resources,” said The Honourable Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Canada. The mass timber industry has been recognized as central to Canada’s housing and building ambitions, and Kalesnikoff’s expansion will contribute to this vision by producing more sustainable and affordable building solutions.

The Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, emphasized the importance of supporting local manufacturers like Kalesnikoff. “Canada’s forest sector is key to our plan to double the pace of housing construction,” he said.
In line with these efforts, the new facility will help boost B.C.’s advanced wood manufacturing sector. The Honourable Diana Gibson, B.C.’s Minister of Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation, noted, “Through the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund, we’re growing B.C.’s advanced wood manufacturing sector, supporting local economies, and creating long-term, sustainable jobs.”
