In 2026, Kolbe Windows & Doors proudly celebrates its 80th anniversary. While they’ve grown into a leading national manufacturer of premium windows and doors, their family-owned roots remain firmly planted in Wisconsin.
To celebrate this milestone, they’re launching “80 Acts of Kindness,” a yearlong initiative that invites their team members at all locations to give back to their communities through meaningful acts, big and small. This program embodies the values that have guided Kolbe for the past 80 years.
“Our 80-year history, growth and success are because of our people. We value craftsmanship, integrity, solving problems and taking care of people. These values continue to drive every decision we make today,” said Jeff De Lonay, president of Kolbe Windows & Doors. “Each day, our team members carry on the family-oriented, customer-focused culture instilled by the founders of this organization.”
Kolbe was founded in 1946 by brothers Herb and Ervin Kolbe who started repairing and building wood storm windows out of the washhouse on their Wisconsin family dairy farm. From this modest beginning, the business thrived and expanded. Today, the company employs approximately 950 people and operate three locations across Wisconsin and Arizona. Their made-to-order windows and doors appear in distinctive homes, multi-family communities, commercial buildings and historic campuses across North America.
“Our future is built on the foundation of our past,” De Lonay said. “We will continue to invest in our people, listen to our customers and push what’s possible in window and door design. If the next 80 years look anything like the last, we’re in very good hands.” De Lonay added.
In the years leading up to this milestone, they’ve made exciting strides as a company—building new industry partnerships, enhancing their energy efficiency practices, launching valuable employee resources, and exploring innovative product options. Each of these changes has been driven by the passion and dedication of our team members.
“Our future is built on the foundation of our past,” De Lonay said. “We will continue to invest in our people, listen to our customers and push what’s possible in window and door design. If the next 80 years look anything like the last, we’re in very good hands.” De Lonay concluded.
