With its bold personality and versatility, Showplace Cabinetry’s new stain Kona, which is now available on Maple and Maple SG across the Framed Overlay, Inset, and Frameless product lines, is said to add “dramatic depth and warmth” to its cabinetry offerings.
Depending on the finish chosen, Kona is a stain that brings out the natural woodgrain with a dynamic visual range. Kona looks lighter, more textured, and full of natural variety when combined with a Matte (10) sheen. The Satin (25) sheen, on the other hand, deepens the tone and provides a richer, more modern feel along with a more polished, consistent look.
“Kona brings an inviting warmth and natural richness to cabinetry that today’s homeowners are craving,” stated Hannah Gebauer, director of marketing at Showplace Cabinetry. “It’s a versatile finish that feels timeless yet fresh, perfectly suited for creating spaces that are both welcoming and stylish.”
The brand’s ongoing commitment to providing prompt, innovative solutions is also demonstrated by the debut of Kona. Kona covers the gap left by the unavailability of one of the most popular dark stains, Tawny, on Maple. It also complements the current trend toward darker, moodier cabinetry tones. These product revisions, along with the addition of new standard paints, demonstrate Showplace Cabinetry’s continuous commitment to keeping up with design trends while still offering the adaptability and quality that their clients want.
“We’ve seen light, airy wood tones dominate the market in recent years—and that’s still a strong look,” said Lisa Myers, director of product development at Showplace Cabinetry. “But we’re starting to see a shift. Homeowners and designers are now pairing those lighter elements, like white oak flooring, with deeper, moodier finishes like Kona or our new paint colors. It adds richness, dimension, and contrast to the space. These additions allow us to meet that growing desire for balance between light and dark.”

In addition to Kona, Showplace is also introducing four new on-trend paint colors inspired by nature and designed to complement a wide range of interiors:
