LP Building Solutions (LP), a prominent producer of high-performance building products, has announced the appointment of Tony Hamill as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Operational Officer, on June 30, 2025.
“As we execute our long-term growth strategy, I am pleased to appoint Tony to the newly created role of chief operating officer,” shared LP President Jason Ringblom. He continued, “With over 30 years of leadership experience in engineering and manufacturing—much of it within our organization—Tony brings comprehensive expertise across our North and South American operations. Tony’s ability to challenge conventional approaches while fostering collaboration and team alignment will be critical as we continue to scale and optimize our business. I am confident that his leadership will enhance our performance and support sustained value creation.”
With 18 locations and more than 3,000 employees, Hamill will be in charge of LP’s North American production footprint in this capacity. He will oversee the manufacturing and operational effectiveness of all product lines, including LP Oriented Strand Board, LP Structural Solutions, and LP SmartSide Trim & Siding. “Tony brings deep operational expertise, strategic insight, and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams in the building products industry,” noted Brad Southern, Chair and CEO of LP. He further mentioned, “His leadership will be instrumental as we advance our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable solutions for our customers.”
Since joining LP in 2013, Hamill, a certified professional engineer, has risen through the ranks of vice president of engineering and vice president of siding manufacture, among other more prominent leadership positions. Four crucial mill conversions and the expansion of the business’s ExpertFinish operations are just two of the significant projects he has spearheaded to boost LP SmartSide Trim & Siding capacity. These initiatives have greatly improved LP’s competitive posture and production capability.
Before joining LP, Hamill was the COO of Roseburg Forest Products, where he oversaw engineering, sales, and marketing, as well as production operations. He also held executive positions at Stantec, a multinational engineering firm. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
