 Monday, November 13, 2023

FSC is always ready to recognize the best of woodworking. Every year, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) looks for uncommon excellence that advances responsible forest management and forest conservation with FSC-US Leadership Awards. This year, Mark Richey Woodworking was the consensually chosen for the award for bringing green manufacturing and sustainable practices. They specifically handle complex interior and exterior architectural millwork and furniture projects.

Mark Richey Woodworking was nominated by Ted Wright, executive director of the Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands. “I met Mark (Richey) through the FSC certification process of a small property in New Hampshire. Mark was influential in driving the FSC certification of the property. I had several conversations with Mark and through that process and I realized Mark’s deep passion for responsible forestry, especially FSC. I knew an FSC Leadership Award would be a good fit for this company. I am honored to nominate them,” Ted wrote in his nomination letter.

Mark Richey Woodworking is already a FSC Chain Custody certified organisation since 2011. They are also renowned as a green manufacturer utilizing wind and solar for power and biomass for heat at its Newburyport, Mass., factory.

Over the years, Richey and his company have won numerous other awards.

Mark Richey has completed 1,000 projects and their artisans have a vast experience of handing multiple projects at a time. From traditional to modern interiors and usable urban to perform hall decor – they are absolutely mind blowing! From the simple to the most complex, Mark Richey Woodworking has done it all with an attention to detail that astounds their customers. The woodworking industry acknowledges the quality of their work and they are proud to have been recognized by the Architectural Woodwork Institute, the Association of Retail Environments, and the Boston Society of Architects, among others.
