Metrie, North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Shortreed as Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective September 3, 2024. Ms. Shortreed will take over from Ian Banks, who is transitioning to an acquisition integration role before his planned retirement in 2026.
In her new role, Ms. Shortreed will be responsible for strengthening Metrie’s information technology (IT) infrastructure and shaping future IT strategies to drive the company’s ongoing growth. She brings a wealth of experience in engineering, technology consulting, project management, operations, procurement, and innovation. Throughout her career, she has successfully led technology implementations and risk management initiatives across diverse industries, including nuclear energy, pipelines, telecommunications, and technology.
Ms. Shortreed has also been actively involved with several Boards and Advisory Committees, including IBM, Salesforce, Western University, the Conference Board of Canada, the International Women’s Forum, and various career development and skills-building organizations.

His contributions will ensure a seamless technology leadership transition and continued operational excellence.”
