Powell Valley Millwork has agreed with Stiles Machinery to enhance its production capabilities. The partnership will involve the installation of high-tech machinery, including a System TM finger jointer line, a Kentwood automatic moulder cell, and two Makor Prime finishing lines, at the company’s two manufacturing facilities in Kentucky. This move is part of a broader initiative to upgrade and expand Powell Valley Millwork’s operations, aimed at significantly increasing production capacity and creating new job opportunities in the region.

Earlier in July, Powell Valley Millwork announced a bold investment plan to allocate $29.6 million for facility upgrades across its two Kentucky locations. The Clay City and Jeffersonville operations will see extensive building and equipment improvements, which are expected to double the company’s production output. The planned expansions will not only increase production efficiency but will also create 33 new jobs for the local workforce.

The decision to invest in advanced machinery and infrastructure is a crucial step in Powell Valley Millwork’s strategy to meet growing demand for its high-quality millwork products. The new equipment will help streamline processes, boost efficiency, and maintain the company’s competitive edge in the woodworking industry. At the heart of this expansion is the installation of cutting-edge machinery from Stiles Machinery. The System TM fingerjointer line will play a vital role in enhancing the production of wood products by improving the accuracy and speed of the finger-jointing process. This technology allows for more precise joins in wood, improving overall product quality and reducing waste.

The Kentwood automatic moulder cell will offer high levels of precision in the shaping of wood materials. This advanced equipment allows Powell Valley Millwork to produce mouldings and trim boards with a high degree of consistency and versatility, further enhancing product quality. Additionally, the Makor Prime finishing lines will provide top-tier finishing capabilities, ensuring that all wood products meet the highest aesthetic and durability standards. These lines are designed to apply finishes to wood products efficiently and with minimal waste, making them ideal for large-scale production.

The installation of these advanced systems is set to take place in the third and fourth quarters of 2026, with one of the lines extending into the third quarter of 2027. These updates will transform Powell Valley Millwork’s production capabilities, allowing the company to better serve its clients and meet the demands of an expanding market.

The partnership with Stiles Machinery represents a significant commitment to innovation, quality, and growth for Powell Valley Millwork. “We are excited to partner with Powell Valley Millwork and provide them with cutting-edge equipment that will elevate their production capabilities,” said Daniel Murphy, Regional Director for Stiles Machinery. “Our team is dedicated to delivering top-of-the-line solutions that meet the unique needs of our customers, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact these new installations will have on Powell Valley Millwork’s operations.”

Jimmy Thornberry, CEO of Powell Valley Millwork, echoed these sentiments, saying, “We partnered with Stiles because they’re the best at what they do. The new lines we are building with Stiles will benefit our customers, employees, and the communities we serve. This investment marks an exciting new chapter for Powell Valley, one that continues to build on our core values: long-term growth, sustainability, and exceptional quality.”
