SIBO

SIBO 2022 event is all set to reconnect Quebec’s robust wood products industry. The exhibit sales are now underway for the province’s largest secondary cabinetmaking event to be held October 27-29 in Drummondville. Organizers of the Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO) have begun accepting applications for exhibit space, buoyed by the good news that Quebec is phasing out covid restrictions.

“Finally, Quebec will have an industrial woodworking show,” said Harry Urban, SIBO Show Manager. “We are delighted that exhibition requests and sales have really started to pick up now that the apparent end of the pandemic is upon us.”

“While the pandemic has stalled in-person events around the world for the past two years, it has not stopped Quebec’s wood products industry from growing. He also did not stop the development of new technologies, supplies and materials. “SIBO 2022 will serve as an important gathering place for industry vendors to showcase three years of new product launches.”

The SIBO 2022 website, the Centrexpo Cogecois a state-of-the-art exhibition and conference center that opened its doors in 2014. The establishment is centrally located between Montreal and Quebec, at the crossroads of the A 20 and the A 55. It has free parking for more than 1,200 vehicles, including a few charging stations for electric cars.

In addition to the three-day expo, Urban said SIBO will feature a diverse educational program focusing on management and technology issues. “We work closely with universities, trade associations and other industry partners to showcase important topics such as finishing progress, workforce development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, including Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence if it applies to the woodworking industry,” Urban said.

“Our goal is to provide Quebec wood product manufacturers, large and small, with the latest products and information that will help them improve their operational efficiency and increase their bottom line,” Urban said. “In turn, SIBO 2022 will provide a valuable forum for industry suppliers to exhibit and demonstrate their latest products to grow their business in the single market for wood products in Quebec.
