Tafisa

Tafisa, one of the mammoth producers of particleboard in North America, turned to Argos Solutions once more for cutting-edge grading systems for their production site in Lac-Megantic, Quebec. The grading technique will be applied in the creation of decorative panels, and this is the third digital surface inspection the company buys from Argos.

Grading system for decorative panel production

Global technology company Argos Solutions, based in Kongsberg, Norway, has been creating digital inspection systems since 1997. For the global wood panel and construction sector, their primary business is the engineering, design, and production of Surface Grading Systems and Panel Repair Systems. More than 400 systems have been delivered by the company to clients worldwide, and demand for their goods and technologies is rising.

Remy Gosselin, a production technician at Tafisa, believes that Tafisa’s experience with Argos, their systems, the technology, and the support they got has been outstanding. It is crucial for the brand to guarantee an effective production process and, more significantly, to provide their customers with products of the highest quality.

Producers today must be able to ensure the visual standards set by the market. A modern, high-speed production facility cannot rely solely on the human eye, according to Richard Lepine, General Manager of Argos Solutions in North America. Argos has established themselves as a market giant who is always developing and upgrading their products and technology. They have gained knowledge and proficiency in grading a variety of panels and materials, from raw boards to ornamental and flooring, throughout time. Their goal is to use this expertise to provide customers with the finest support possible so they may achieve their objectives, adds Lepine.

Tafisa required a dependable grading system that could examine each panel as it was being produced. In addition, sophisticated and reliable technology was needed due to the complexity of the panels and their decorations. Manufacturers utilize the EIR method to improve the appearance of real wood. Controlling this product for the human sight takes a lot of effort and time. The producer may instantly change the press and degrade panels based on EIR thanks to the Argos technology, which accurately regulates every panel produced.
