Thermwood Corp. has introduced the Model 43 Work Cell, a streamlined and cost-effective CNC routing system designed to help cabinet, closet and furniture manufacturers improve production efficiency while reducing operator workload.

Developed as a complete nested-base CNC production solution, the Model 43 Work Cell enables a single operator to load, label and process sheet materials with zero downtime. The integrated workflow is intended to simplify production while maintaining consistent output for high-volume manufacturing environments.

The system is available with table sizes of up to 5 ft. x 20 ft., allowing manufacturers to process full-sized sheet materials efficiently. Integrated Control Nesting software automatically optimises part layouts to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste during production.

Powering the machine is a 12 HP spindle combined with rapid indexing speeds of up to 2,800 inches per minute (IPM), enabling faster machining cycles and increased throughput. According to Thermwood, the combination of high spindle power and rapid movement helps manufacturers produce more parts in less time.

To ensure precision and repeatability, the Model 43 Work Cell incorporates several advanced features, including an automatic tool changer, laser-compensated axis alignment and Thermwood’s proprietary SuperControl system. These technologies are designed to deliver consistent machining accuracy while reducing setup time and supporting reliable production across multiple jobs.

With its combination of automated workflow, nesting optimisation and high-speed performance, the Model 43 Work Cell is aimed at manufacturers seeking an efficient CNC solution for cabinet, closet and furniture production without the complexity of larger automated systems.

Thermwood is a US based, multinational, diversified CNC machinery manufacturer that markets its products and services through offices in 11 countries. Thermwood is the oldest manufacturer of highly flexible,3 & 5 axis high-speed machining centers known as CNC routers. They primarily market to the woodworking, aerospace, plastics and composites industries but have found applications in almost every major industry from medical to entertainment.

Thermwood has also become the technology leader in large scale additive manufacturing of thermoplastic composite molds, tooling, patterns and parts with its line of LSAM (Large Scale Additive Manufacturing) machines that both 3D print and trim on the same machine. These are some of the largest and most capable additive manufacturing systems ever produced and are marketed to major companies in the aerospace, marine, automotive and foundry industries as well as military, government and defense contractors.
