Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces purchased Virginia Tile’s woodworking product distribution company, that’s a subsidiary of Artivo Surfaces, which received funding by Transom Capital Group. The purchased businesses include branches in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Wichita, and Springfield, Missouri, in addition to their headquarters in Kansas City, Kansas. The acquired shops provide practical and decorative hardware, cabinet accessories, and decorative surfaces.
The deal’s financial data were not made public. The change, according to the company, is consistent with Virginia Tile’s dedication to its core business of flooring and surface solutions while guaranteeing the woodworking division’s employees and clients continue to grow and be stable under Wilsonart’s direction.
Sunil Palakodati, CEO of both Artivo Surfaces and Virginia Tile explained, “We created Artivo Surfaces to become the undisputed leader for flooring and surface solutions and this move is part of that strategy”, he continued, “Transitioning Virginia Tile’s woodworking division to Wilsonart supports our priorities of focusing on our core flooring and related product business, enhancing customer experience and further strengthening our position in the industry.”
“This acquisition complements Wilsonart’s company culture and greatly enhances the services we offer in these territories,” Tymon Moore, vice president of sales for Wilsonart further added. “We look forward to increasing Wilsonart’s company-owned distribution network and bringing its ever-expanding portfolio of engineered surfaces to an even wider audience.”
In order to provide a smooth experience for both staff and clients, Randy Burton will move from Virginia Tile to Wilsonart as general manager of its locations. “I am excited to embark on this next chapter for the Woodworking Division under the Wilsonart brand,” Burton expressed his joy. “With Wilsonart’s deep roots in the woodworking industry and commitment to innovation, I’m confident both our team and our customers will continue to thrive.”
Galleher Duffy and Virginia Tile are still part of Artivo Surfaces, which is financed by Transom Capital. In January 2025, Galleher, Tom Duffy, and Trinity Hardwoods merged to become Artivo. As a parent business, Artivo Surfaces was established in October 2024 with the goals of promoting cooperation, increasing operational effectiveness, and broadening market penetration while maintaining the distinctive character of each of its brands.
