Vollmer America is moving to new facility near Pittsburgh airport. Vollmer of America broke ground on May 11, 2019 at their new location in Findlay Township, PA near Pittsburgh International Airport. The new 30,000 square foot building is now finished and the Vollmer team is moving to their new facility on June 1, 2020. Vollmer will host an Open House Celebration October 22-23, 2020.
Vollmer, the global market leader for grinding and erosion machines in woodworking and metalworking industries, has had its North American sales and service subsidiary in Carnegie, PA for the last 23 years. Having outgrown its capacities, the company has decided in 2018 that it was time for a brand new building, trebling the size of the showroom alone to allow for more machine demonstrations and trainings for customers as well as new employees. “The new facility is setting our new benchmark for success for decades to come and ensure that we are able to offer our valued customers the support and service they need in North America”, says Peter Allen, President of Vollmer of America.
New Address and Location
Some of the highlights of the new building, which is located at 115 Enterprise Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15275, are the doubled warehouse space for best possible machine availability, a significantly increased showroom for a variety of machine demonstrations and trainings as well as the in-house fitness room for employees. The new facility has a very modern look with lots of glass, steel and concrete as well as high ceilings in strategic places. Furthermore, the 5.8 acre lot provides plenty of room for future expansions.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Open House October 22
Vollmer is welcoming customers, suppliers, partners, journalists and town officials in the afternoon of Thursday, October 22nd for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony which will start off the Open House Celebration. Tours through the new facility as well as announcements from Vollmer Management will make for a great afternoon! More information on hours and agenda will be released soon.
Open House & Technology Day October 23
On Friday October 23rd guests will not only get to experience everything the new building has to offer, but they will also have the chance to see live demos of many different Vollmer machines and get informed about new technologies in presentations and workshops. With more than 800 employees worldwide, the Vollmer Group which was founded in 1909, has established itself as the world market leader in grinding and erosion equipment. The recent launch of the new VLaser 270 has made Vollmer a full-line supplier of tool machining. The North American subsidiary currently counts 26 employees, 19 of which are based out of the Pittsburgh office. The other 7 are strategically located throughout the US to cover more ground in sales & service.
