The Wood Manufacturing Council (WMC)and Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference & Expo (WMS) have united together to bring a new WMS Student Day. This is an initiative to highlight the woodworking advancements and awaiting career opportunities. With all efforts put together, WMS Student Day will be promoted on November 4.
The main goal of WMS Student Day is to make the students enrolled in high school and postsecondary woodworking programs aware of the latest equipment, software, and supplies. They also get the scope to gather knowledge about the prospective career opportunities that are there in the woodworking industry. The day will also allow the woodworking instructors to update their knowledge while providing an open forum to develop connections with the suppliers, woodworkers, and their peers. Highlighting the benefits of the event Harry Urban, manager of WMS 2023 said, “Wood products companies are increasingly challenged to attract and hire qualified candidates to join their production teams. We believe Student Day represents an important opportunity to highlight the tremendous advancements that are transforming the woodworking industry from not just merely being a job, but a rewarding career.”
Richard Lipman, president of the WMC also believes that the event will be a real eye-opener that will open various scopes. It will be an exclusive chance to come in contact with the most innovative machines and products that are trending in the industry. He also believes that it will be a noble chance to challenge any misconceptions that exist about the woodworking industry.
WMS 2023 will start from November 2 and will continue till November 4, at the International Centre. With three halls filled with equipment and supplies, the show will also have educational sessions presented on the WMS Live Stage for the expansion of knowledge and ideas of the visitors.
