WMS Live puts spotlight on worker safety

WMS Live will turn responsible than ever and focus on worker health and safety in the woodworking industry with the support of WSIB Ontario.

Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s Health & Safety Excellence Program will be presenting awards and accolades for worker safety at WMS Live on November 3, 2023. Companies that take pro-active steps for the maintenance of security and safety of employees will receive rewards through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s Health & Safety Excellence Program.

This session will shed a light on this, while educating the company managers about the program. WMS a well known and prominent industrial fair is back again after a long pandemic break. The Canadian woodworking connects Canada’s wood working industry with the world’s most successful machinery manufacturers and suppliers. This year the event has scheduled free presentation to educate the company’s representatives attaining the event. WMS starts from November 2 and ends in November 4.

Founder and president of Proactive Health and Safety Solutions (PHS), James Ebidia will also explain the working of the performance-based program. The discussion will also highlight the fact of how companies can expect rebates for implementation of effective safety measures to instill safety into regular working system. Ebidia owns praise worthy expertise in this field. He has been working for almost 30 years as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, serving both the public and private sector. Ebidia well handled his role as the Health and Safety Excellence Program Specialist of the CME program since its initiation. All these experiences made him a professional who is very well acquainted with the needed requirements that a company needs to develop the safety and security system for its employees.

This session will not only give an overview of the HSEP, but will also discuss the strategies that a company needs to employ for its safety and security. Ebidia will also discuss about the processes that are needed to optimize existing system to build the health and safety targets. This particular session is an educational session produced by the Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario for WMS live stage.
