Woodworks organises a seminar on wood frame construction

Woodworks has organised a seminar on ‘Introduction to Wood: Arcitectural Design Considerations and Best Practices’ on August 16.

This presentation has provide an introductory review of allowable uses and best design practices associated with wood-frame construction. Wood species and grades were covered along with an overview of their structural properties and durability. Architectural considerations associated with wood framing were examined, including fire protection and sprinklers, construction types, acoustics, and building envelopes.

Design and detailing best practices for wood-frame buildings were also explained in an effort to highlight the items that play an important role in the construction process and ultimate building performance.
