Forest Resources Association announces the new appointment of their President
The Forest Resources Association (FRA) proudly announces the appointment of Tim O’Hara as its President, effective immediately, following his role as Interim President since March. With more than 30 years of experience in forestry policy, sustainable management, and strategic industry leadership, Tim is exceptionally well-suited to drive FRA’s mission forward, championing the needs of the wood supply chain across the nation.
Tim has a strong track record of fostering industry collaboration, highlighted by his recent role as FRA’s Vice President of Government Affairs and Lake States Regional Manager, where he led essential legislative and regulatory efforts to bolster the industry. His career has encompassed influential positions, from Regional Woodlands Manager at Packaging Corporation of America to shaping statewide forest policies with Minnesota Forest Industries. Tim’s extensive expertise in sustainable forestry practices, government affairs, and economic development has firmly established him as a respected leader in the field.
“Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic insight that will greatly benefit our association and the entire forest products industry,” said Josh Sandt, FRA Chairman of the Board. “His longstanding dedication to sustainable forestry and his success in advocating for key industry priorities make him exceptionally qualified to lead FRA’s mission. We are excited to welcome his leadership and are confident he will advance the critical work of supporting our members and enhancing the wood supply chain.” Josh added further.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BS in Forest Management and Administration and a Master’s degree in Economics and Policy, Tim has served on numerous professional committees and authored key publications addressing workforce needs, sustainable forest management, and economic impacts. His commitment to FRA’s vision ensures members and stakeholders can anticipate a leader dedicated to fostering growth, advancing advocacy, and championing sustainable practices throughout the wood supply chain.
